Droplet

✏️: Droplet is an automatic plant waterer. It calculates the soil moisture and water it to make sure the plant never gets thirsty.

Droplet can be placed next to the plant that needs to be watered. By calculating the soil moisture, it can determine when it is the perfect moment for the plant to be watered. It is perfect for taking care of our plants when we leave for some days. The system is composed of a small round reservoir hanging on a wooden pole and a sensor that is inserted in the dirt. The sensor detects the moist and judges if there is enough water. If not, it ativates a motor that makes the reservoir rotate and waters the plant. During the watering it continues measuring the soil moist to pour the necessary amount of water without overwatering the plant. When the soil is watered, the reservoir rotates back to its initial position.

Droplet needs to be placed next to the plant, making sure that the reservoir is right above the pot. We then fill the reservoir with water using a funnel. We dig the sensor in the soil, as close as possible to the side of the pot, without touching it. Lastly, we plug in to power and let it take care of our plant.
