Fictive Islands

Imaginary islands have been in philosophy and literature since the Antiquity, for example Atlantis in Plato’s dialogues or Utopia in Thomas More's 1516's book. Later, they also became famous among movies, TV shows, videos games and comics. They are symbols of fantasy, freedom, imagination, and utopian societies and civilizations. Inspired by all those stories, our project aims to recreate fictional islands. In order to generate those islands, we fed an artificial intelligence with around 700 images of real islands.
